Interested in membership?

Membership is a serious matter at White Oak and deciding to become a member is something you should consider prayerfully. To be a member, you will need to give testimony of your salvation, and you must be baptized by immersion.

Some areas of service at White Oak require membership, while others do not. Our communion service is open to all believers, regardless of membership status, as is the choir. You must be a member to vote in a business meeting, serve on a committee, and men must be a member for one year before being considered for the office of deacon. We note the birthdays of our members in the printed bulletin each week, and we share important news and prayer requests with members via an automated phone system. We expect regular church attendance from all members as they are able.

When you decide to join, our custom is for you to first meet with our Pastor. Then you will come forward at the end of a Sunday service during the altar call. You will be met by our church clerk, who will gather some information from you (or you can also submit this information online) and present you to the congregation for an immediate vote. Our pastor will also comment that we are making a commitment together to look after one another. Then we will all greet you, shake your hand, and warmly welcome you.

Below are the questions you will answer when you come forward to join, and you are encouraged to answer them now, in advance, to expedite the process. Your response will be sent to our office, and you will not need to fill anything out when you come forward.
