Lonnie Polson

Senior Pastor

Lonnie Polson serves WOBC’s pastor for teaching and preaching. From 2005 to 2016, Lonnie pastored Community Bible Church of Holly Springs, a church-planting work Spartanburg, South Carolina. Lonnie holds a bachelor’s degree in performance studies, master’s degrees in Bible, communication, and education, and a doctorate in educational administration. Lonnie chairs the Division of Communication at Bob Jones University, where he has served as a faculty member since 1978. Lonnie and his wife, Margaret. have two married daughters and four grandchildren. Lonnie’s passion is to help people become fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jeffrey Stegall

Music Director

Jeffrey Stegall ministers as WOBC’s director of music. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music and drama and a master’s degree in communication. He has studied at Welch College, Bob Jones University, the University of Oklahoma, and the National Shakespeare Conservatory. He currently serves as the principal costume and scene designer for the main stage at BJU. Jeffrey and wife Kim have two adult children. Jeffrey loves serving with the music ministry at White Oak and helping to point others toward Jesus Christ through music and worship.

Paul Barnard

Staff Assistant

Paul is a licensed tax professional with 30 years’ experience in individual and business taxation, accounting, and payroll. He enjoys serving missionaries and other ministers both in the United States and abroad with their financial needs. Paul and his wife, Beth, have one son who works at a Christian camp in Georgia. Paul is a people person stuck in an accountant’s body, so he’s happy to be using his gifts to help the body of Christ at White Oak.

Rebecca King

Financial Secretary

Rebecca King holds a master's degree in communications from Bob Jones University and received her accounting certification from Guilford College. After passing the CPA exam, she did accounting and auditing for mostly Native American tribes with a small firm and later volunteered with Wycliffe Bible translators. Her accounting expertise allowed her to work with groups in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Kenya—both on the field and via the internet. In addition to her efforts at White Oak, Rebecca works closely with Christian Service Center near Yuma, Arizona. As secretary and finance assistant, she hopes to mirror the friendliness she has found at White Oak.
